    WTB: Older M1A

    Guys,

I'm in the market for a super nice, older M1A. I would prefer USGI parts all the way around, to include the wood. I missed one on the "forum we don't speak of " a couple of weeks ago and I'm kicking myself for it.

If you have an M1A that is in the same condition as the one in the below link, then I'm your guy. I'm willing to pay up to $2k for the right one, or I have "several" M1 Garands to use as trade fodder. Also have a near mint 1968 Browning A5 with box that I might be persuaded to let go.

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

      Yes!

Preferably USGI parts....maybe an early SAI still in the box? I'm open to what folks might have to offer.

Dave with that budget and some wheeling and dealing you could almost cover the cost of a build.

It is very tempting, Phil. Just got signed up on the M14 forum yesterday to possibly start the process. I bought a new SAI a couple of years ago...wife shot it and now it's hers, and she won't hesitate to let me know that.

So, seizing the opportunity to replace the one I lost, I figured I might as well make it a really nice one. Just have to get smart on them before I start buying parts. I'll take any pointers you or any other M14 experts are willing to give...hint, hint.

I'd keep an eye daily in the PX "over there". Good M1As pop up occasionally like you're looking for. If you could find a complete kit that would be a great way to go also. Forceman just sold a really nice kit not too long ago. Just check it out daily.

There is currently a early 11K all TRW SAI rifle up for grabs for cheap.
