Some years ago my friend was given a Winchester Model 1894 also in 32 Winchester Special caliber, this rifle was also manufactured around 1907-08 and had a long 26 inch oct barrel and full length magazine. It also had the Lyman peep. We fired this rifle a lot over two summers and not bad up to 200 yards.
Photos show a Winchester 1873 (have a factory letter) that my father bought in 1936. The caliber is 38-40 and the rifle holds eighteen cartridges and has a 30 inch barrel. The target was fired by me at 100 yards using the Lyman peep sight. This rifle was manufactured in 18913 Photos

When my father bought this Model 1873 in 1936, the wood was already carved-up with the homemade checkering.
The Lyman tang sight was manufactured for the Model 1886 Winchester but was put on this Model 1873 at some point
in time. The Lyman tang sights have a letter code under the tang and can be identified - but often will fit other models
if the screw pattern is the same
