    1911 vs. M&P 2.0 .45

Hi All! HRFunk here. I was graciously invited to join this forum and to share some of my videos here. My interest in firearms is quite diverse (and that's about the only thing about me that is diverse!). I am a lifelong firearms enthusiast, a former Marine, and a High Power Rifle competitor. Many of my videos feature vintage firearms like the M1 rifle and the 1911 pistol. As a further introduction, I'm posting a link below to my most recent video. In it, I'm comparing the time-honored 1911 pistol to the brand new S&W M&P 2.0 .45, and exploring just how far handgun design has evolved in the past century (by the way, I misspoke when I was making the video and said it's been 117 years since the 1911 was introduced. I meant to say 107 years. Sorry I didn't catch that until after I posted the video). In any case, I hope you enjoy it, and please let me know your thoughts.

Hey I've seen a few of your vid's. Welcome aboard. I've qualified with the 9mm M&P with my department for two years its a neat fun pistol. I can't see the .45 variant being any better or worse. However for a pistol that's been in production for about ten years and is on there second version of same doesn't look good. So I'm not going too nit pick it too death any more.

Now "ME" being a hard core 1911 guy, the 1911 can do what no other pistol can. So when all these hipsters and tact-I-cool operators start bla, bla, bla you can show them this picture, 1911 for the win. Click image for larger version

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas! I love that photo! I was in Korea in 1988, and I think I was issued that very pistol and probably drank the same kind of beer! I had a pretty good time in the ROK!

Will do Brian! I haven’t had much free time in the past few days. I spent all day at a match yesterday where I was shooting my M1 along with my 1903A4, and my GP35. Now THAT is a good day!
