One of my old SAI 1911s

I thought I'd post this just for the hell of it because we have some other SAI 1911 fans besides myself. I sold this one a few years ago,I do miss it. It is a 2002 Loaded, it was tighter in slide/frame than my TRP and had as good of fit of small parts. I might cry about this one.

Very nice! I've got a 2001 Mil Spec that's about due for overhaul. She's my first handgun and has been an absolute blast to shoot. It would be great to send it in to SAI's custom shop, but I keep spending my hobby money on Garand stuff.

The SAI custom shop does great work, you could have all the upgrades done you wanted at the same time.
I know the way it goes, for me it's M14 parts, but these battle rifles are addictive!

I'm a Springfield fiend, my 1911 was a rescue the frame was made in 1992 and the slide is current production. I got lucky the frame too slide is hairline and is as smooth as two pains of glass with water in the middle.

Is that your project build you were able to do cheap Phil? That's a nice pistol.

Yea, all total I have $605. invested but if I sold the plunger staking too that would drop down too a whole whoopping $585. I don't figure that's really not too bad of a price figuring that there is no MIM parts and being in a configuration that SAI never offered while using all SAI parts at the same time. The level of frame and slide fit shouldn't be anywhere as good as it is but the planets all aligned on that day.

Thanks, It does shot very well. I think I will drag it down when I hook up with TonyBen on Sunday and turn him loose with a few rounds down range and see if he get the same vibe as I get. That way it isn't just ME. I would let the wife shoot it but she has cooties and her own Black Stainless too play with.

He has a few I'm sure, one I know is a Sig 1911, as well as one with a muffler attached so when it backfires it doesn't disturb his neighbors, hahahahaaa.

Lol. That's right, he has that stainless Sig 1911. I forgot until you mentioned it, I have the black Sig 1911, one that's similar. I'm getting older and losin' it!

We had a good get together last Sunday, Tony cranked off a nice little knot with Mickey Mouse ears pretty quickly using my pistol. After he was done he said with a smile "I Like it!"...
