    My Remington 1911 R1 and Beretta M9

I've only got two handguns, the 1st of which is a Beretta M9. No real mods there - just a Hogue wrap around grip and a black stainless guide rod to replace the factory plastic one.

The other is a Remington 1911 R1 which has had some work. It started out as a Mil-Spec then I took it to work where it received the following:
    -Slide fitted to frame
-Slide and frame polished then sandblasted and painted black
-Wilson Combat full length two piece guide rod
    -Wilson Combat hammer
-Remington grip safety and ambi thumb safety
-New trigger - though not sure of the maker
    -VZ fiberglass gray/black slant grips
-Hex key grip screws - I really don't like slotted screws
    -Trijicon Night Sights

To my knowledge the only Remington R1 rebuilt by SAI. A guy I work with calls it the Remington Operator.

I really like that R1, I bet it's sweet to shoot. Lots of nice work in her too. Good show!

Ya. Wasn't very accurate before the rebuild but the guide rod and fitting the slide to the frame really tightened her up. 1st gun I ever bought too.

Love the Beretta too. Actually bought that gun twice. Bought it the 1st time then got laid off and had to sell it to fix my Chevy Blazer. Got hired on at SAI and still missed it so as soon as I could afford to, I bought the same exact gun all over again.

Never, ever, EVER sell a gun to fix a car. Especially if that car is a rusted out piece if crap.

I had to sell guns to get by when I was younger too, bad situations happen and you gotta keep things rollin'. Was so angry I just upgraded over time and got better guns as money allowed.
It could happen at any time to any of us, I think if I ever had to survive with no job or whatever I would keep my TRP and my 1st M1A, the black one.

If it came down to it, sell the TRP and keep the Professional - they are the rarest ones and a lot more work goes into them. Keep that one til you pass on.

I hear you on that one, but I decided to shoot the PRO and keep the TRP unfired in case of SHTF, I have a brand new gun. I figured you only live once, I want to shoot the best one.
On my TRP, I plan to upgrade some of the parts to Wilson Combat, and I have a S & A one piece magwell. That one is my rainy day gun.
