Interesting pre WW2 Model 1903 cartouche

Interesting pre WW2 cartouche not often seen on 1903 stocks, the SA over JFC approx. 1927 to 1932. Can also be found on early "C" stocks too.

Also USN stamp on butt: U.S.S. WEST POINT there is a lot of WW2 history with this ship

Every time you post something I rush in to see it, and you NEVER disappoint. Just fascinating. I had to "Google" USS West Point, and apparently there are two of them, but only the commissioned cargo ship served in WWI. Do you think this rifle was assigned to that ship? Any other info on the history this rifle is dripping with??

Thanks so much for posting all of your super cool goodies here, RCS, it's very much appreciated!

It was built around 1940 as the SS America then had the name changed to USS West Point during WW2
