First and foremost I am of the opinion that the 03 Springfield is a Ballerina with FANGS! It was really the first US Arsenal made small arm too match anything made by a commercial maker in fit and finish, and it was also the first US Arsenal made weapon too rival or exceed any commercially made small arm in accuracy. That's just my very humble opinion.
Most Match shooters and or Marine history buffs are well versed in the legendary accuracy of the 03 Springfield rifle. For those that are know here is a little reminder with something new too add too the list of legendary 03 feats of accuracy. 1910 Cpl. Perry Schofield set a worlds record that still stands today 116 consecutive bulls eyes at 500yds when the previous record stood at 60rds at that distance. WWI, USMC at the battle of Belle Wood engage and decimate the German Hun's at distances ranging from 700 too 1000yds. And the most famous 03 Springfield story of all, George "Dad" Farr as a tryo at Camp Perry fired 70 consecutive bulls eyes at 1000yds using line issued 1921 "Tin Can ammo" against and later loosing too Sgt. John Adkins USMC with his scoped 03 Springfield firing 180gr Remington Match ammo.
