M1 carbines were around $21.00 including shipping from Rock Island in or around 1962-63, you also had to join the NRA

My M1 Carbine I got from my Dad, he found it back in 1987 at a garage sale for $30. when you could still do that in CA. It had everything on it and instead of taking off the stuff because it came to be considered an assault weapon in 2000 I stupidly just sold it then. It was a 6-44 Inland Mfg. I miss it terribly and it was one of the most fun guns to shoot but I can't pay today's prices.

Usually I don't visit the carbine section. It's too painful for me. I had one made by IBM that was surprisingly accurate. When THE ENEMY government here BANNED all magazines over ten rounds and all more modern detachable magazine rifles, I sold it through a dealer.

My first was too much. 350 for a Plainfield in 1994-95. Fast forward to today I recently sold the original, minty condition type II barrel band for enough to make the Carbine a normal retail price.
