    Carbines-Wartime-Production book $348

I'm new and joined to learn about my 1941 SA Garand.. I'm now looking at these Carbines too and watched a Youtube video about identifying them where it refers to this book but it's $348.?? Is that for real? Edit: There is also a paperback for $209..

        Thanks..

Edit: I just found one on Ebay for $20

Edit again:I know you all likely know of this site but for anyone new (like me) that finds this post here is a list of books not for sale but we can search for http://www.uscarbinecal30.com/books.html

The site also has lots of info and help ID many parts.

As you can see by this edit it is strongly recommended you shop around for the best price. Especially on the more expensive books. A few of these books are hard to find, a few are outrageously priced by some sellers.

You can order that book direct from the publisher for $22 and change. North Cape Publishing in Tustin, CA. I've known Joe Poyer and Craig Reich personally for the better part of 40 years. They're two of the straightest shooters you'll ever encounter. I live about 20 miles from each of them.

According to their web site, North Cape Publishing is selling their books through Amazon. When you click on the link for the US Carbine 7th edition, it takes you to Amazon and a price of $128.96. Maybe next time you see those guys, ask them why the price is so high.

              OP,

I'm glad you found one for cheaper.

The issue is the book has likely been out of print for some time and has been used by collectors, and some books go way up in value and themselves become collector's items. I have Joe Poyer's M14 book I got at a gun show about 5 years ago still new in the wrap for about $40, now it is the same thing and I've seen it for $300+ for very good condition and up. +1 to TJT, I have a friend in the OC that also knows Joe and has spoken very highly of him as well.
