Buy or wait?

I am looking into purchasing an m1 carbine. I was talking to a man at a local gun shop lately and he said I should wait and see if the import tax is removed, therefore making them cheaper to purchase. Do you think this is likely to happen in the near future? If not, what do you all think is a good price for a carbine in shooter condition? What should I be on the lookout for to avoid getting ripped off?

A nice GI non import marked GI M1 carbine should cost you $750 to $900. Right now no is importing GI M1 carbines.
