My most challenging project to date

Fully machined by me manually on vintage Hardinge Bros Bench miller attached to a 12 x 36 Grizzly lathe somewhere between 150 - 170 different operations. This was one of two ,last Entreprise Arms billet receivers that was in rough out stage when I got it .

Absolutely the best project that I've seen to date.
Your attention to detail is unrivaled in today's age. Thank you very much for sharing the start and end of the project here on this site.
Much appreciated, and an awesome job done on your end!!

A work of art. Thank you for sharing. Where there any problems with the rough blank that required you to address during machining?

I had to do a lot of inspection ,set up trial cuts to get a good datum to start with as they got really close to finished size in several areas .But once that was worked out everthing fell into place . Very time consuming project .

I followed your progress on the M14 forum. Impressive workmanship and a true work of art. Is this how Mathewson Tool made the proto type T44s?

Somewhat ,although machinery would have been different . Ive never seen close up pictures to see machine marks on those.

                        That is just stunningly beautiful.

Now, after all the blood sweat and tears, can you imagine if they blamed something like the Garand's dreaded 7th round stoppage (or any of the early teething problems of the design) on you and made you weld it an re-machine it, or worse scrap it and start over!!!

I couldn't even begin to imagine, ... but I guess it is different if there were 1000 people responsible for making it at a government facility.

Truly, that is stunningly beautiful. How many hours do you think that actually took?

Parkerized the receiver and built the rifle built just waiting on connector arm for faux selector set up.and it ready for test fire.
