Living as I do in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey, fire arms of the M16/AR15 type walk a very fine line. AR15 rifles were banned by name in NJ in 1990/91. Court cases and "guide lines" restrict what you can have on a semi-auto rifle with a removable magazine. As my rifle has a removable magazine and a pistol grip, I may NOT have a flash hider or bayonet lug. (That must deter a lot of crime). I built a NJ compliant 601 type rifle using a Nodak Spud 601 lower receiver, an old M16 upper, a commercial chrome BCG. The magazines are blocked to 15 round capacity. The muzzle device is a Cavalry Arms muzzle break, and the bayonet stud has been removed. I was lucky to obtain the Colt green handle bayonet in a trade. It also has the Nodak Spud triangle charging handle, and a repro waffle magazine (not shown).
I could not get the dark green color I wanted. The unit insignia on the butt is a decal I made of my son's old air Force unit. NOS black cotton sling.
