    early Colt CAR-15 stock

Back in the early 1970's I had a good friend that did hauling for different people who bid on surplus at the
Rock Island Arsenal. One time he found some early green furniture and an incomplete CAR-15 sliding
stock. About ten years ago (long after he died) his wife sold off these parts to me. I had to use some repro
XM607 internal parts and installed it on a 1972 Colt SP1 to test it, it works fine but is not the same stock as
    the XM607

          Very cool, Robert.
When they're next to each other the differences are clear. Thanks to people like you who photo document these things, otherwise a lot of us would be left wondering.
