Hopefully they will comp you something, that's bull crap.
Do any mfgrs test fire uppers for function, or do they just slap them together and sling 'em out?

They may but I built this one myself. I haven't bought a complete upper since I bought my PA10 from PSA about 2 years ago. I build better ones anyway. I never even considered checking the gas port clear before assembly. This was a first. Never happened before except when I built an upper for a friend with a $69 barrel. Now that didn't surprise me a bit. When you buy a premium barrel the expectation is that the maker has done at least minimum QC of it. Lesson learned, I'll never build another upper without checking the gas port clear before assembly. PITA when you have to take the whole thing back apart to diagnose it. Stuff happens but, well, you know. LOL, I won't hold my breath on the compensation though. That scope I got from Graf's? Excellent! A $69 steal. The construction and optics as good, maybe better, than some much more expensive scopes I have on other rifles. I should have bought two.

LOL, Odin wrote me back and, well, I won't even take the time to repeat their response. Something about the upper being over gassed and I need to turn down the gas block and other rediculus comments made by, obviously, someone who has their head in a very dark smelly place. I asked him to explain why, when I HAD the block turned down initially the rifle would not even pull the brass far enough out to eject and why opening up further had no effect other than intermittent ejection with the hottest pressure sign loads. Idiot! He never even acknowledged the fact I found the serious burr in the gas port. Oh well, if I ever get it back together and the monsoon rains stop here in N CA again we'll see.
