        The top tool is for the BAR Model 1918A2 and the bottom tool for the Model 1918 & 1918A1 note the same manufacture on the bottom tool as found on the early M1 Rifle tool. The BAR tool would
        be kept in the small leather pouch issued.

          I believe they were used to remove the flash hider ,disassemble the buffer assembly and to remove the butt stock. Robert please correct me if I am wrong.

            Rich, you are correct also to remove the fore-end , there is also a tool for the gas cylinder. The flash hider is often removed by hand as there is a spring type washer but the tool could be used and it marked as such in the top photo. The Model 1918A2 never made a good conversion to 7,62x51 NATO during the period that 30 cal weapons were being converted
