Question for JerseyDevil and all others, please help

Not sure where to post this, please move if need be. I have a fairly fast computer, using edge browser, Microsoft 10. All other web sites I go to work fast. How come when I come here, no matter what I click on it takes 30 to 45 seconds to load??
Any thoughts are appreciated. TIA.

First, I never used IE or Edge. I use Firefox, but some of the procedures are the same. Clear the web browser cache. Clear the cookies for this site. If you clear all the cookies in the web browser, you may lose some location data and sites may log you off. (For example. If I delete the Lowe's cookies, it loses what store I shop at).
If there is a restore defaults or refresh option on Edge, try that. You can download Firefox and try accessing this site and see if it makes a difference.

FWIW, I'm also on Windows 10 and the Edge browser - NO issues loading any threads here or anywhere.

I do a complete cleanout and run my spyware and antivirus every day. This site is the only one that I have an issue with. It's so annoying that I don't come here much.

Well, I'm sorry to read that you're having such problems here. A while back, maybe two years now, a couple other members were experiencing the same difficulties. Through clearing their cookies and by my clearing the system cache and other "behind the scenes" maintenance cleared up their problems very quickly. Your issue is the first time it's been brought to my attention since then. Despite my recent system maintenance, I'll perform it again now in hopes it will help you. Please let me know if you still have these issues. I need about 15 minutes to run the maintenance on my end. Thanks.

Okay I changed some things on my end. You should see a change on your end, specifically in the "style" that the forum shows up as. I also changed some preferences and other things on the back end.

Please update me how it's doing.

Now do this right away:

1. Open Edge.
2. Click on the three dots icon on the upper-right part of the screen.
3. Click Settings.
4. Under Clear browsing data, click on Choose what to clear.
5. Click on Clear.

If the issue persists, we suggest that you use a new InPrivate window. To open a new InPrivate window, follow the steps below:

1. Open Edge.
2. Click on the three dots icon on the upper-right part of the screen.
3. Click New InPrivate window

To isolate the cause of the issue, turn off any third-party security software or firewalls in your system. If you are using Wi-Fi, try moving your PC or laptop closer to the router or access point.

Dun did the top instructions Boss, then from desktop icon double click took 18 seconds for the site to open, then clicked back on this thread and took 15 seconds for that lil spinney wheel to stop spinnin and be able to post this reply.
I'll try the new inprivate window later.. Never dun it before and I'm an admitted puter moron. : )

Okay good. So a couple things to keep in mind. Edge has been historically slow for various reasons. A potential fix would be to use Chrome or Mozilla. Also, this site runs on a cloud server, whereas others....like the M14 Forum for example.....run on traditional servers. Most techs will tell you that it doesn't matter, but I swear it does.

However, my laptop I was always using before would get bogged down so I had to take it to a real computer maintenance guy, and he was able to remove adware and viruses from being all over the 'net.
Contrary to popular opinion. I wasn't going to porn, dangerous viruses are everywhere that the site doesn't do regular cleanup or skilled hacks can hide stuff. The most fatal virus I got I visited a football website about 10 years ago once and got a virus that froze my computer with some crazy virus that froze it completely while little windows popped up and it said exe.fail and something else and erased 1/2 my hard drive in about 30 seconds. It wasn't fun. Also if you don't have, get Norton. I hope you can get some resolution, that can be very frustrating.

Ok, now a Q. I click on "like" for all you guys who replied and the "like" turns to "unlike". Is that what's supposed to happen? If any of you receive an unlike, it's not intended, all are supposed to be "liked"
