That is a really nice Tooele M1D. Any way you could post a photo of the leg etch on the right side of the receiver?
These are not actually a rebuild, but rather a new build of M1Ds in 1968 & 69 from existing M1 Garand receivers they had on hand through their normal rebuild program that was ongoing at the same time.
Springfield did the same thing in 1952. They built new M1Ds out of mostly, if not all, similar on-hand M1 Garand receivers.
A cut above some other M1Ds since having the leg etch proves the manufacture of the M1D in the US for the DoD instead of elsewhere which is possible without some form of provenance to locate manufacture.

Thanks Rob, I'll see if I can get a pic of the receiver leg.
Looks like a build from 1969 but hard to make out the month. The etch typically would have TE month year. It looks like 1969 but I cannot make out the month.
