Banner Suggestions ???

Both, as long as it doesn't skew the image.

I can't go much longer, but I can go higher. The image is a little squished as it is right now, so a little expansion will do it good. My only fear now is that it takes over the page entirely and makes it difficult to see what page you're on unless you scroll down a bit.

What about the colors of the font? Too primary? Should I darken them a bit??

Ah ha! Okay, please let me know what you think when you see it on a comp screen. I think you'll find it already a bit overtaking of the top portion of the site. Believe it or not, I'm actually a fan of the lower, longer banner.

I like the American flag theme, but I also like the combat scene with the Soldier with the M1 Garand. I think it switching off daily if possible between a dozen images or so would be cool!

Thanks for joining up here.
I like that idea a lot......but I have no idea how I'd accomplish that software-wise. I have seen that, though. It's a revolving banner system (or something like that).
I'm going to play around with some more here in a bit.

Okay I just made another banner. It's the one with "M1 Garand Forum.com" in the upper right against the blue background. I dropped the "Greatest battle implement ever devised" because I think it's too overplayed with all things related to the M1 Garand.

What do you guys think???? Agree / disagree???

I kinda liked the old one, maybe something inbetween? I know you're concerned with it drowning out the page though. It's something you can adjust until you like it.

Yes, that was a cool pic. You could probably shorten it a bit and it would still be good.

I went a head and re-uploaded the soldier banner for now. I tried editing it to make it lower, but the image became very badly distorted. I do like the colors on this one as well, so we'll see what I can do with it tomorrow......for now I'm off to bed!!
