Looking for more information about the care and feeding of an M1.
I retired from the Navy in 1995. My Dad carried a Garand in WW2, so it was a natural for me to become interested in them. I have a CMP SA M1 service grade with a 1942 barrel, a 1943 receiver and from what the CMP employee could determine all SA parts. Pretty close to period correct for my Dad's rifle, except for a new stock.
Next month I'm headed to the CMP's Advanced Maintenance Class. I'm pretty excited about that and hope to gather some information about what to expect by looking at threads on this forum.
I joined the GCA and have been very impressed with their magazine.
