Hey Guys, Just picked up my first Garand.
Been hunting one for about 5 years, come across a few but never met my criteria, I'm kind of picky on guns. I wasn't looking for some super high end one, or a unicorn, just one that likely saw action in WW2, sub 1 million SN, in decent shape, and not insanely priced.
I had finally decided to get one through CMP, service grade, had all my paperwork ready, and then found out they're sold out, The same day I happened to go to a brand new gun store in my town, and there was a Garand on the wall, so of course I had to look at it.
953,xxx SN. SA walnut stock, SA receiver. SA Barrel, dated 10-50 that gauges very tight.
On a basic search the internal parts are 1950-1952, and the stock is 1950-1954, So I assume the gun was made in 1942, issued, rebuilt in 1950-1952, and has sat in the safe since, theres a little wear on the internals but not bad, and like I said, the 1950 barrel has little use.
If ya'll want Ill post all the S/Ns later.
