Hi from central Oklahoma. I am an old guy, 70 +, been shooting since I was 8 years old. I had my FFL for several years until the price went from $30 to $200. I only sold to my coworkers at Halliburton. Fired my first Garand when I was in the 45 Inf Okla National Guard in 1966. That was a couple of years before we converted to the plastic gun. The old 30-06 will reach out and touch a lot farther that the 5.56 NATO or a little farther than the 7.62 NATO. Just saying. I got my DCM Garand in 1993 for $165. I think it was a relative new if not new rifle as it still had bluing and machining marks on the bearing surfaces of the receiver and the barrel date stamp was 1/53. I have a Garand question I will ask in the questions forum.
