What type of Garand did you get?

The Garand is likely a CMP rifle although the guy I traded with referred to it as a DCM. It is a 5,800,000 SN range which seems to be 1955 or 1957 depending on the reference data. The stock has a very faint cartouche that appears to be CMP with something under that and then ,possibly, crossed arrows below.

Rifle came incredibly clean-almost sans lube. I have oiled/greased and it is butter smooth.

4 clicks up and centered puts it dead on at 50 with 150 gr Privi for Garand. Went to 6 clicks up and hammered my mini popper repeatedly at 100. I'll have a chance at some 200 yd flashers this weekend. We'll see if I have it zeroed.

BTW-is this trigger guard normal for a post WWII rifle?

That rifle looks like a winner!! Beautiful!!

The trigger guard looks right, but check to see if it has a stamped or milled hook. Milled hook will be late WW2 and all stamped is post war if I'm not mistaken.

Welcome to the forum. The first garand I bought soon bloomed to 40! LOL.
