    Hello from an okie

    Hello all,

I'm new to this forum. I'm from Oklahoma I'm a service member who loves the M1 garand. My garanditis didn't set in at first. I got my first one last May. I didn't know much at all about them then. Since I have learned a ton. My Garanditis set in once I discovered the CMP forum. Since then I have bought three more. I have one iof each US manufacture. I am in the process of getting another one. A super nice LEAD. I have also placed a WTB navy barreled receiver with hopes to build one of those. So I would say I have a good case of Garanditis and I don't care. My wife and I just had our first child. A handsome little man. I hope to pass on my Garanditis to him. Sorry for the long winded story. Nice to meet you all.

    Best regards
    Casey

    Casey,
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to sign up.
There are lot of very well-respected folks here, and there's no doubt you'll learn a lot from them.
Congrats on the birth of your son, and thank you for your service.
Looking forward to seeing you around here for a while.
    Cheers from NJ.

      Thanks Brian,

I do not plan on going anywhere. I know a few of the guys on here from the CMP. I look forward to learning more and more. So far all my knowledge comes from books or other guys I have talked to. Unfortunately I have not gotten my hands on any known original known rifles which I hear is where a lot of parts knowledge is learned. But I hope to get there one day.Know if I could only afford to rebuild my gas trap.

            Thanks Dave,

I'll be in touch with you about some parts. I have also been talking to Brian about parts. I don't need a whole lot. I can't wait to get her done and take some pictures.
