Howdy y'all! I just acquired my first Garand. Now the learning curve really takes off! I am a long time reloader, hunter, shooter, rank amateur gunsmith, and hobbiest at too many things.

Welcome from the once great Golden State. The learning curve is a L-O-N-G, slow process. I've been at this game for 40 years-started when there was no internet-and I'm still learning. Buy all the M1 books you can afford and really read them, absorb as much as you can. It's an interesting journey at best.
One caveat--M1 rifles have a habit of multiplying. Ask any one here how/why we know this. Welcome to the addiction!

Thanks. I am already wishing I has spoken for both of the rifles that were offered to me...but between cut work hours and teenage kids it was the *responsible* thing to stop at one.
