I'm a gun collector more than a Garand collector. I love S&W handguns and all military rifles. I found my Garand on the internet shortly after the Sandy Hook murders, and the seller lived in a state where the gun restrictions are severe, so he sold it to avoid being accused of owning a tool of mass destruction. His loss was my gain.
My Garand has a May 1941 receiver, abut is a total reworked CMP Special Grade shooter. All of the parts on it are Springfield, with the exception of the Criterion barrel that CMP uses for the builds. It's not quite a tackdriver, but it'll place 1-2" groups at 100 meters all day long.
I'm an administrator on one of the smaller rimfire forums, and a site moderator on one of the S&W forums. I've learned how to play fair, so there won't be any troubles from me over here. I'm a strong supporter of the Constitution and all of the constitutional law on the books.
