Greetings from Port Canaveral.. I'm a Boat Capt and IFFF Fly Casting Instructor here offering a free lesson to any forum member if you come to the Space Coast. I joined the forum because I have a 1941 M1 Garand that looks like it never went to a war. I was standing in a Pawn Shop when a guy came in with it but they wouldn't pay what he wanted. I bought it on the spot on it's condition alone then bought a book "The M1 Garand 1936-1957" by Joe Poyer and Craig Riesch and checked the ser#s where all the parts are July-Aug 41. It even came with the Bayonet but the barrel markings were stamped over and impossible to read. I want to learn more about it and if it's even right to look for a 1941 barrel with clear markings or leave it as is. Thanks in advance for any advice.
