    Hello from Costa Rica

Hi everyone. I've got a Garand that was my grandfathers. I've left the states and I can't take it with me however, so I'm here to learn about the rifle and how best to sell it to a new owner that will value it.

My grandfather got it from the civilian marksmanship program 20 years ago, but we haven't used it since then. It's in the Miami, FL area.

Personally I've never shot it. This forum is a great resource, and I've been enjoying learning about the rifle. Wish I could keep it, but the gun import laws to my new country (Costa Rica) are prohibitive, so it's gotta go.

Welcome to the forum. Too bad you can't take your rifle to Costa Rica. If you or someone in Florida can take pictures of the rifle and
then disassemble the rifle and take lots of pictures of the drawing #'s of the various parts, it would help in determining a value.

Yeah, that's the truth! Thanks Jak for the welcome and the good idea. I've seen some videos on disassembling it on youtube. Maybe I can figure that out myself.

This should help with disassembly and reassembly too.
