New Guy from North Dakota, New to this Forum Anyway

Evening All from the North Country,

Some of you have probably seen my nonsense on the CMP Forum. Just joined this one, same user name as the CMP site. Seems I recognize a number of guys on here.

    Hey Steve!
Thanks for stopping by and signing up.
I hope we get a peek at your current '40 project.....I'm sure it's going to be a great one!
    Cheers from NJ.

Yep, have looked at this one a few times and decided to sign up tonight. Am a member of an old Chevy truck forum too, that is one project I am thinking I may never get done. The 8-40 won't be totally right but should be a neat project. Receiver has been refinished and the SPG stock was cut for the butt trap but will use it anyway. Have a few early rifles and later stuff. I had a display in my gun room but have locked up what I can in the safe, we have a burglary ring running wild in this little town and the surrounding area. All meth heads, even put an alarm in the house. Bad deal.

          Welcome from the SoCal desert!

Sorry to hear about the problems, we have a serious problem with crime, daytime burglaries and home invasions out here too.

It never used to be like this up here, all drug related of course like so many other places. We are an hour probably from LE response. Anyway thanks for the welcome. Am waiting on a couple little parts for the 8-40. Also am doing a two rifle project for a couple of great nephews built on Grade C receivers I got from the CMP a few years back. Think my niece's husband (the boys' dad) is more excited than the kids. One of the receivers dates from May 42 which is their granddad's (my brother) birth month and year which is kind of neat.
