Do you have any pics of freshly finished pieces for us to check out?

I've done about a dozen for others but no pics and I'd be hard pressed to figure out which of mine I actually did since they look so original and I didn't keep track. This also works for gas plugs and cylinder locks. As mentioned in the instructions, I think. You can also use the chemical for blackening steel parts such as sight apertures and front sights but the dip has to be short and the steel parts well rinsed after. I've also used Caswell's to darker parts I have Parkerized that came out lighter than expected. I've done that with sight bases, trigger guards, bands, AR gas blocks and AR muzzle devices and even an entire 1903 receiver. Again, steel or Parkerized parts should only be dipped long enough to begin to see the darkening process then immediately removed and rinsed in hot distilled water, dried and post treated with oil.

DO NOT buy and use the gel type and you must have enough chemical to completely immerse the part in or the color will be uneven. No doing one side and expecting to turn it over and be able to get the same color on the other side.

You shouldn't have to register to access my files. These are being accessed by tons of folks in multiple Forums. Heck, this is a killer file sharing service anyway. I've never had any issues with it and only use the free service myself. Registering is a good thing, IMHO, if need be.
