#1. Everyone knows I can't read, so where are the pictures? #2. Where are the distructions on making your own SLED? Why blow the coin on one if your going too tune your M1, save a few more bucks and make your SLED.

Phil, why would anyone want a SLED to begin with? It's the most useless device known to man that just complicates the simple task of single loading an M1. Plus it pisses off everyone wearing a shooting coat, on a hot day, when some fool forgets to take it out or can't get it out before rapids....duh. LOL.

I do have another accurizing "book"/copy I was given in school that has pictures but, it's about 50 pages long, not a very good quality copy, probably wouldn't scan worth a damn and the PDF file would be a monster. Close your eyes when you read the one I posted and try to picture the pictures. Oh, heck, that won't work.....reading might be hard to do with your eyes closed. :-)

Hahahhaaa.... Yea the SLED's from AEC are a pain and prone too slicing up fingers unless you have a small screw drive too get too the leg. I make mine and you can remove them with your finger tips. Pops in and Pops out in about 2 seconds, and that still leave you a ton of time. There is something too be said about leaning on the spot.... It only takes once, and you remember it always.....

I kind of lied...or omitted I guess. I actually do use a SLED device for single loading. It's a design no one makes anymore but, in my humble opinion, the best ever made. Easily popped out by pushing the clip latch. http://pic80.picturetrail.com/VOL100.../406135531.jpg The yellow one is actually the easiest to use.

Never seen the yellow one, but I have seen home grown versions of the other.

It's shorter and doesn't release the bolt when initially inserted, which I like better. With the other, it pushes the follower down far enough for initial release and it's harder to get down that far being aluminum. The other is as slick as snot to insert and a little pull on the op rod handle locks it in and the bolt rests behind it. Getting it out is as simple as pulling back the handle with the back of your hand and pushing the clip latch. If you're really good you can catch it as it flies out. tu1>

Here's a link to a good NRA publication - with pictures

Toward the end they have accurizing instructions.
