I built a "scout Garand" using a Ram Line polymer stock, a rail rear hand guard that I bought from John Holbrook at a Reno gun show/GCA convention several years ago and a decent shooting rifle. I put a 4x Burris pistol scope on it and it shoots pretty well. My recollection was that the hand guard didn't cost that much, but inflation is what it is.
I had an M8 rail for one of my M14s, it was a nicely machined and finished part, and fit properly. Durable and light, good for mounting optics on it. I know the one for the M14s will only work with standard profile barrels, I'd guess it's the same for the Garand. Good part, I'd recommend one.

Very interested in this sort of project. Have a nice Nikon 2xEER. Have several M-1 Garand's that would work very well for such a project. Just not sure how to proceed. Will follow further posts with interest. Sincerely. bruce.
I've been looking at rails for my Ram-Line Garand build. I found this rail but I'm not a fan of the way it's so much taller than the rest of the rifle. Also don't like all that white lettering down the side. My rifle is not your billboard. The Ultimak blends in much better and actually looks like it belongs on the rifle - to me anyway. I think when the time comes, that's the one I'm going to get.
Anybody get one in the past year since the last post?
