        The scope mount does not have original ring screws and I've never seen the knob on one attached like the one pictured. So, completely original.....no. As far as the rest of the rifle? Without paperwork as proof your guess is as good as mine.

            Original screws are Allen head and quite small sized. No one makes them anymore, they are next to impossible to find and all modern replacements are larger sized. They were never slot head screws.

              Are you sure mate? Flat heads were around before the cross type?

                Absolutely certain. No question about it.

                These are USGI mounts. Note the very small Allen head size.

                This is a repro. Note the cheesy looking Chinese weld holding the knob on and the larger sized Allen heads.

                None, not even modern day repros have or ever did have slotted screws.
