I've had interest in this model since I first saw pictures in a issue of the garandstand. Does anyone have info on the late testing of a m1c paired with a m2 "night vision" scope. It's the same scope used on m1 carbine, but mounted on a m1c. I'm looking for info on mounts or well really anything. Has anyone seen a real one not on pictures?

Try Charles Redfield, he has a M1 rifle with the "night scope" and often provides line drawings for Billy Pyle's
"The Garand Stand Report" newsletter. I know of another M1 with the night vision scope in a collection in
Illinois too, I have seen it a few years ago. The mounting bracket has the same hole pattern as the M1C,
same night scope was used on the M14. I have seen the mounting bracket for the M14.

Robert thank you for the info you were able to provide. After seeing the pictures I needed to learn more. It was always wierd to think that they only made these type of rifles in carbines, until we see it in the m14 and m16 rifles. But I always assumed it was due to a short range scope a short range rifle was better and it worked just fine for take down, but was much lighter. A really neat subject. But I'll get ahold of him to see what he could add.
