WRA clip latch with CM stamped on the button instead of the leg,. Anyone know anything about these? I remember reading about them once but cant recall what it was now

I know that the speculation was that these were all supposed to be stamped in the same spot for the fellas doing the heat treating,but I have seen several not stamped,or punchmarked where they were supposed to be,but elsewhere.I haven't heard the story of a different meaning,but who knows?I'd just think it was by mistake.The mystery over the marks has only recently been "brought to light"with any sort of concrete evidence,so any other meaning could be more rumor based speculation...or not?
