This rifle has a faint SA GAW stock.

This is the only other photo that would post

    original April 1944 Springfield

I have a friend that travels around northern Wisconsin and Michigan, checking small gun
shows, barbershops and hardwarestores for military rifles or old lever actions. Back in May
1993, he was checking out a veterans estate sale in northern Wisc. There were a few 22 rim
fires and shotguns and only one rifle left, this M1. Condition was not that good, finish was worn
on the left side of the receiver and there were some dents and chips, not much interest. He called
me and I told him to buy it for me.

The bore was nice, TE was 5.0 and everything looked correct for April 1944, even the barrel. The
stock has a very faint SA GAW. Not worth a lot but original - they did not rebuild all of them. Unable
to down load all the photos ?
