Do I have the correct bayonet?

I have a late 1944 Winchester Garand. Also I have an Onieda 16in bayonet marked 1943. I was wondering if this is the correct length/style/brand for my rifle? From everything I've read bayonets & rifles were just a mix-match type of deal. The thing is I want the correct style/length/scabbard that would have been issued with the new rifle in 1944.

It would've depended on what they had in stores at the time. Either is correct but to answer your question with the answer you want to hear, the M1 bayonet with the 10" blade would be "more correct", or a cut down M1905 bayonet.
