I had recently purchased a DCM CMP garand with serial numbers dating 1942 and once I had taken the trigger group out I see this tag. Does anyone know what this could be?

Had a brainwave and translated "elevation" into Turkish. Yep...Yükseklik is the word for elevation, so that's what they are. (I couldn't really read the top one and hadn't had enough caffeine to get the grey cells activated the other day.)Comment
