Butt stock items for early WWII Garands

Thanks, everyone for the input. So to summarize, the consensus is that a 1943 Garand should have the following:

Top/short butt stock cavity

• Early-style combo tool
• Grease pot
• M31/moustache brush
• Canvas pouch?

Bottom/long butt stock cavity

• Brass double-ended oiler
• pull-through thong barrel cleaner, housed in the oiler

Am I missing anything?

I carry some sort of buttstock kit in case I need to do some maintenance while I have the rifle out in use. A little trick, I keep a primed (only) cartridge case to blow out the barrel for cases like slipping and getting a snow plug.

There were different configurations, but these pics should help. The stainless tubes are early models.

The early tubes are nickled brass, NOT stainless steel. Also, the sectional cleaning rod in the cloth tube is post WWII.

The pull through fits in one end of the oiler, hence the double-ended oiler.

That is the earlier style combo tool. The plastic oiler looks like what was used with the M14

Full length-double ended oiler (the short one you have is not correct), grease pot and moustache brush.

This might be a formula for insanity, but I'm hoping to find some solid references for which butt stock components likely came with my '43 Garand. I've attached a photo of what it had when I purchased it, and have searched in vain for a diagram similar to the one found in the field manual for the later M1 variants (such as the M1C), also attached. Does an equivalent diagram exist for the earlier Garands? If not, what other butt stock components were likely included with a 1943 M1? Thanks in advance for any tips you might have.
