    Parkerizing on small parts.

Trying to get an idea as to when and what serial range did the grayish parkerizing of small parts such as rear sight parts on both Winchester and Springfield began....Thanks Jimmy

No specific s/n range. Each and every batch of solution was slightly different through out production (including batch contamination), so colors will range from light gray to almost black. It also depends on the composition of the parent material of the part. Different metal compositions take the colorizing differently. A LOT of post-war rebuilds have that gray coloring--a LOT. Basically, your ? is unanswerable because there is no right or wrong answer.

Is your 12-43 SA "original" or "correct"? There's a HUGE difference. Remember this--a rfle is only original ONCE--the day it leaves the armory.

Nice couple of rifles. The WRA appears to be refinished

Does it look like a Greek finish or a post war US arsenal refinish.

Post war US refinished. The Greek finish is a shiney blackish finish.
Nice SA as well. We need pics/descriptions of internals to guess originality. What's the number after the "-" on the trigger housing? How's the hammer marked? Numbers on safety? Number on the bottom of the follower? We need to know how every part is marked to determine possibility of originality.
