Love the rifle/pics!! Great piece of history you got there.

Here is mine 12/43. Mostly correct but I'm learning and it ain't easy knowing what is right/wrong. Love the wood showing age/coloring. GAW looks pretty good to me too.

        Bill,
        That's a super nice rifle!
I was gambling on mine having that same green finish, but now seeing yours makes me feel a lot more confident that I'm on the right track.
I don't think mine's annealed, though. Does that matter?
Also, is this a restoration or an original rifle??
Thanks for posting pix of this rifle here for us to see and appreciate.

It could be a restoration I dont know, rifle looks good enough to be original. I bought the rifle as is few years back . It does have a Data sheet signed by Scott Duff.

Brian, I think your rifle is in a grey area as far as annealing goes. I think (correct me if I am spreading bad info) that I've read that the Sep-Dec serial numbers can be intermittent. Annealing has been found on rifles into the early 2mil range. I think it is considered a standard feature up until August 43. There is also debate as to when the process started but that does not pertain to this rifle. Bill, very nice rifle.. looks like a wide base sight too...
