1945 Springfield

Here is a SA 1945 I picked up from a private owners Estate. I sent into CMP for a serial search and it came back as a DCM sale. Rifle appears right as rain except for two flaws. The original stock had the cartouches sanded, looked like somone used a orbital sander on them but never finished . Also has what appears to be the previous owners drivers licenese # etched on the receiver leg. This is a shame as it seemed to be a original rifle. I did change the stock now shes is as correct as she should be

There are still some really nice DCM rifles around and sometimes only a few parts were changed. There was also an
exchange program in 1974-75 by the NRA and Rock Island Arsenal. You could sent in a M1 receiver that was not
serviceable and receive a like new barrel & receiver group for $20

I have a NFR stock at home that I'm trying to rescue. I hope it comes out as nice as yours.
