On replacement stocks what time frame was the small crossed cannons inspection stamp used. I have two stocks where the small crossed cannons stamp is on the bottom of pistol grip but no other stamps or markings are on the stock.

I have an almost new condition SA SHM cartouched stock with the small crossed cannon stamp on the pistol grip flat. Charlie Redfield told me years ago, that new production stocks made in mid 1945 had the SA SHM and small crossed cannon stamp on the grip and were used on very late M1 rifles. I had checked my stock for any sign that it might have been a rebuild stock but was unable to find any evidence of a rebuild

And then I have presumably a rebuild stock (RRA stamped on left butt stock) that also has the small ordnance wheel on the grip flat. Was the ordnnce wheel placed on the grip flat as part of the rebuild process or might my stock be a refinished older stock? There is no evidence of an SA cartouche ... That I can tell.
