I would say your barrel is a replacement, SA 1953 barrels were found on early 5 mil IHC rifles

That barrel COULD be original to the receiver. SA helped IHC out in the very beginning by supplying barrels and receivers.
I would like to see a pic of the heel stamping on your IHC. Gap letter IHC's are generally accepted as being in the 4.6 million and 5.1- very early 5.2 million range. Also would like to see a pic of the numbers above the right front leg. You COULD have an SA/IHC receiver as well.
It's an interesting number in itself. IHC was originally supposed to start their s/n's at 4.44 million, but shortly after they started, it was lowered to 4.40 million. You could have a semi-rare receiver. The only thing certain about the IHC's is that nothing is certain.

Can you post photos of not just the heel but the entire receiver, barrel markings, T-G, op rod markings, gas cylinder and any stock markings.

SA did help but not in the 4 mil range. Need to show a up close ,clear picture of what is stamped on side of barrel. The punch mark will tell the story

Gap letter receivers are SA and they're in the 4.6 million range. IHC only ever stamped "postage stamp" logos.

No Im asking about what is stamped on side of barrel behind op rod. Punch mark will tell if its a original or replacement barrel as I suspect

I found out from the CMP forums that it’s a postage stamp. What has me confused is the heat # looks like SA

Nope. All IHC stampings. My 4.45 looks just like it.

IHC didn't use HRA barrels. But now that I said that, someone will prove me wrong.
