More info on LEAD M1 Rifle

From a previous thread I sought some information about my LEAD Springfield rifle and now I need just a tad more. When the M1 was redone in 1966 was a sans-serif "P" added at that time along with the orange triangle. My rifle does not have the orange triangle but the sans-serif "P" stamped right above the circle original "P" marking. Is it possible that the orange triangle was never applied or just worn off. Just can't seem to find out much info on the LEAD rifles - anything other info would be appreciated. I contacted Letterkenny but no information was available. Thanks

The orange triangle is a ink stamp, they are very easily worn away
