Here is mine.

Here is my 7.62mm M1. She is 99.5% correct SA, with all late post war parts. The barrel is a SA 3/66 Navy tube that I scored new in the tube 0 on both ends for what some would say was a steal of a price about 2 1/2 years before CMP released there 7.62mm rifles at the 08 Western Games. So while mine isn't a Navy build, I was a Sailor once apon a time and I did screw it on. She is a smoke'n hot shooter with 125/135 and 168 handloads. Well guys I tried too blow it up so you could see it better but I choked at it.

Sweet! Now if I can just get a stock set for mine I'll post pics of mine! How do you like the 7.62 set up? I'm new to the Garand and wondered why some do the conversion. Not critical just inquisitive!

My stock is a Burch Overton replacement nothing special just clean and ding free it does have nice lock up but plain straight grain. How do I like the rifle? one word "Orgasmic" I can't get enough of it. Now I know why 7.62mm M1's were feared on the firing line, they hammer! I do admit there is some NM type work done on the front end that Gus Fisher recommended and I followed up with and it really shrunk it down even further. If bedding cuts groups down another 40% on avg. this rile would make one small hole. Its 1/12 USGI barrel likes bullets from 125-168 best. I can run M118NM with its GI 173gr bullet or M118LR with its heavier 175SMK but the groups do start too open up, even if I hand load the 175s this barrel just doesn't like that projo under any powder combo I've tried. It love's everything else so maybe its a blessing in disguise.

I scored a great deal on some 155 Berger Hy-brids and have them loaded up. I just haven't slipped out too test them yet. I have played with other 155 makers in other rifles and they were just O-hum so I haven't been a fan of 155s sense. So I thought what the H... I got these cheap lets try this again in this rifle and find out how well they do or don't run being a new bullet in a newer rifle with low round count.
