IHC Receiver marking

I'm hoping IHCFAN55 will weigh in here. I picked up a IHC over Christmas. It is NOT a collector. I want it because I'm from Evansville and not as a shooter. Every part except for the stock is IHC although some parts are late issue. Someone probably tried to "correct" it and didn't have the knowledge. Some of my buds think that as long as the parts say IHC it's matching.

Ok, here's my issue. My receiver leg is stamped "D6528291-F" with no other markings. All the posts and the few books I've looked at show the "F" series are marked "IHC F 6528291". The receiver doesn't appear to have been welded, but I'm no expert. Serial is 4544896 with a 7 53 LMR punched barrel. Best I can figure from various data it may have been made in early 54.

Does anyone else have a receiver with the D6528291-F marking?

Your receiver drawing number sounds correct. There is a range of IHC receivers starting around 451XXXX range to around 462XXXX range where the drawing numbers are D6528291- letter code. Your receiver falls in that range.

Thanks RDS. I thought I was in the -letter suffix range. For some reason I've not seen the F suffix in charts and documents. I'm sure I've just not looked in the right spot.
