7.62 Marked items

Just saw a couple interesting items for the M1. The first was an op rod that was marked 7.62MM that was a 1/2" shorter. Next was a barrel marked 7.62 3-66 I believe. I just glad I'm focused on the M14 platform to many rabbit trails on each of these platforms.

7.62mm marked op-rods are Italian and will not work with full length barrels. The 7.62mm barrel with the 3/66 date was made at Springfield Armory for the US Navy.

What will the op rod work in Phil? It looked as if it is NOS. And thanks for the info.

Italian M1's that have been converted too 7.62mm from 30.06. The Italians cut the rear of the barrel 1/2in shorter and reamed then too 7.62 spec. There main stock/rear handguard was also cut 1/2in shorter the front handguard is the same as US. The rest of there parts will interchange with US rifles.
