  • match conditioned M1 possibly a don McCoy

I just purchased a Springfield M1 Garand. When I bought it I could tell that it did not have and original stock it had a qloss finish and the stock is bigger than the butt plate. I have a friend who asked around and the guys he talked to seem to think it’s a don McCoy. However it dose not have his signature on it. Also the gas plug was just 2 set screws I am new to M1 garlands and I’m not sure how to set the screws I don’t want to mess it up. Any help would be much appreciated

    thanks ahead of time

I am pretty sure that is a Clint Fowler built M1.

Don didn't sign all of the rifles he built, and out of all the rifles I've seen that were lugged by him he didn't use that style.

$2000.00 maybe? Hard to say. I don't see a lot of match Garands made by known builders up for sale.
