    Can't rack.

The operating rod and bolt get stuck and I can't pull it back without field stripping it. It seams the bolt doesn't want to rotate fully. I've had the gun for 2 years and it has only just started. I was thinking it was the operating rod. Any thoughts?

Does it do it when the hammer is cocked or only when the hammer is in the fired position?

Do you have a spare trigger group to try it with or a spare hammer. I have ran into this same problem in the past. I solved it by changing hammers.

I do not. Are they expensive?

A good hammer is about $35.00. A complete trigger group is about $75.00 to $125.00.

Could the operating rod have anything to do with it? Or the spring?

                Yes, and probably not, respectively.

If it cycles with out the trigger group installed its not the op rod or op rod spring. Check the hammer nose for chips or deformities.

Does it still pass the "tilt test"?

Come on Ryan. Everyone knows the tilt test is waaaaay over rated. Only 2 of my 4 M1's pass the test and of the 2 that don't, 1 of them is the most accurate of the lot.

Something somewhere is binding, I would first start looking at the trigger group parts hammer, hammer spring, pins and work up from there.

Yes,absolutely Jon,but I had a bent oprod once that wouldn't let the bolt cycle.Once I "re bent "it, it worked.

How many rounds have you put through it over the last two years?

Do you disassemble it after each range outing??

Are you lifting up on the op rod handle when you pull it back? A little wear over time combined with doing that will cause the whole works to bind up if the tab slightly disengages from the bolt.
