    Hammer spring housings

While cleaning my rifles I found that two had broken hammer spring housings. The rear of the trigger pin holes had cracked. How common is this? I have a feeling the hammer spring housings were not US GI.

I have been shooting M1 Garands and M1As since the mid 1970s. This is the first time I found a cracked hammer spring housing. In fact I found two. Both were type II hammer spring housings. I have a feeling that they were repro parts. I would not think the hole that trigger pin passes thru would be a high stress area.
